San Luis Obispo Civil Engineer:
North Coast Engineering (NCE) has provided a wealth of engineering and land surveying services to clients across the County of San Luis Obispo since 1979, including local and regional projects. Steven J. Sylvester, a Registered Civil Engineer who remains a principal engineer of the company to this day, founded the company in the coastal community of Cambria. NCE provides infrastructure design for sewer, water, and storm drain, provides coordination for utility company design efforts, as well as surface design for earthwork operations, new or improved streets and parking lots. NCE provides storm drainage design including detention and retention systems to meet the latest stormwater management regulations, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for flood studies and water storage tank design, booster station and complete water system layout.
NCE’s Stormwater Permitting includes preparation of the SWPPP Document, Water Pollution Control Drawings,
annual compliance reports, construction observation, QSP Services and submitting of the NOT at the end of the project.
Additionally, North Coast Engineering prepares feasibility
studies, development and entitlement services, plans for rough grading, final improvements, low impact stormwater design, utility plans, earthwork volumes, plan specific preparation, construction, observation, as-built (record) drawings and expert witness services.
North Coast Engineering has provided engineering services most recently for Cal Poly Student Housing South, I Field, Campus Point, and Twin Creeks.
North Coast Engineering presently consists of engineers, surveyors, technicians, and support staff and provides a broad spectrum of civil engineering, land surveying, land entitlements, and project management for San Luis Obispo County. NCE is currently equipped to run up to three survey crews. Crews may consist of a conventional two-man arrangement with a party chief and instrument man, or where appropriate a one-man crew is run where practical and economical for the client.
